Computer Science Technical Report A Coregistration Approach to Multisensor Target Recognition with Extensions to Exploit Digital Elevation Map Data
نویسندگان
چکیده
A target recognition capability is described that performs: color target detection, target type and pose hypothesis generation, and target type veri cation by 3-D alignment of target models to range and electro-optical imagery. The term `coregistration' is introduced to describe target, range and electro-optical (color and IR) sensor alignment correction. Online model feature prediction using 3-D military vehicle models is demonstrated for 3-D vehicle models. All phases of the recognition cycle are shown on near-boresight-aligned electro-optical and range imagery collected at Fort Carson, Colorado. As a step toward integrating constraints from Digital Elevation Maps (DEM), an automated terrain feature prediction and matching capability is demonstrated. This terrain matching is used to re ne DEM to groundlooking imagery registration.

The complementary nature of LADAR, FLIR and color data for ATR is being exploited by new algorithms in a three stage recognition system. The stages are initial detection, target class and pose hypothesis generation, and precise model to multisensor coregistra-tion matching. Coregistration globally aligns 3D target models with range, IR and color imagery while simultaneously reening registration...

Flooding is one of the most devastating natural disasters occurring annually in the Philippines. A call for a solution for this malady is very challenging as well as crucial to be addressed. Mapping flood hazard is an effective tool in determining the extent and depth of floods associated with hazard level in specified areas that need to be prioritized during flood occurrences. Precedent to the...

متن کاملToward Target Verification Through 3-D Model-Based Sensor Fusion
Most Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) algorithms operate in 2D image space. Even when using 3D models, these 3D models are typically translated o -line into sets of 2D representations, such as templates, which are then applied to imagery to perform detection, recognition and veri cation. In contrast to this approach, the work reported here takes steps toward direct matching of 3D models to ra...
